Two steps forward and one step backwards

Just two hours ago, my chemo was abruptly stopped.  The actual chemo medication was leaking from the catheter in my chest.  So I'm now receiving an antidote to the chemo medication.  Otherwise the leaked chemo could kill the cells inside or on top of my chest.  This will just delay the entire process by at least three days.

  1. Mike this blog is a great idea. What were your symptoms? Is your family able to be around? I am picturing you playing music while in the treatment facilities. Maybe the tuba wouldn't work for that!

    1. Hi Kelli. It started with a pain in my shoulder that kept getting worse. After a couple months, I went to a doctor. He X-rayed the shoulder and found a tumor over my third rib. He knew what it was immediately. Since then, they have found five tumors. But they're all going away with this massive chemo.

I'd sure like to get a tuba down to Seattle. For now though, I just have a banjo and that works for me.

  3. Hi, Mike! Thank you for starting this blog! I've been thinking about you, and wondering how your treatment is going. Darn old leaky catheters.... I hope that you are back on schedule soon. A banjo, huh? Careful, or somebody might just toss you out a window....

  5. Hi there Mike. This message is round 3, don't know where they're going and why they don't show up. Here's hoping you only receive one. Wonder where you got your sense of humor?!!! You wouldn't be pulling everybody's leg about your banjo playing...would you? I'd be willing to bet your quite good at it. I'm looking forward to one day hearing you play that banjo and Back in The Saddle would be swell. Your in my thoughts and prayers, Mary Lynn
